A Resort envisioned by an outdoor brand
Snow Peak, Inc. is a company that offers high-end outdoor equipment, with their headquarters located in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture since 2011. Green Wise was responsible for the exterior design of ”Snow Peak FIELD SUITE SPA HEADQUARTERS”, a multi-purpose resort produced by Snow Peak that offers bathing, dining, and lodging experiences.
To act as a coordinator for living in harmony with nature
With the corporate message “Bring outdoor play into your life”, Green Wise, inspired by Snow Peak’s philosophy of aiming for the “restoration of humanity” through connecting with nature, we prioritised on ways to “preserve the forest”. To bring humans and nature as close as possible, we took on the role of a “coordinator” between trees and buildings, and by choosing “transplanting” over cutting down trees whenever possible, we integrated around 30 trees into the landscape design without cutting them.
To fully experience the surrounding nature
In contrast to the open grassy camping fields, the spa and accommodation buildings are nestled within a wooded area. From the large communal bath and restaurant, guests can leisurely enjoy views of Awagatake and the natural beauty of the Shimodagou area below. We designed by incorporating plants native to the area to maximise the natural charm and appeal of the environment.
