100m above ground in Nihonbashi is a garden designed to be enjoyed throughout the year, designed, constructed, and managed by Green Wise.

Nihonbashi, where Park Axis Premier is located, has been a center of trade and craft for Tokyo (Edo) since the 18th century. At the time Edo had one of the highest population densities in the world and many commoners did not have private gardens. Instead, they enjoyed the seasons through trees planted in common areas and potted plants.

With the same spirit of the Edo people at heart, we at Green Wise designed a garden where seasonal plants and flowers could be enjoyed even 100m above ground and surrounded on all sides by walls, a normally challenging environment.

By constructing three planting areas in the garden, similar in function to giant pots, we are able to switch out the plants to match the season. In spring cherry blossoms and golden bells are planted, in summer there is crape myrtle, fall is the time for japanese maple, and winter has fir trees. Throughout the seasons the garden is a place that gently welcomes all those that wander there.
